Not just Calcium!
A different approach to
Osteoporosis is a disease condition that results in low bone mass and deterioration of bone tissue. 25 million Americans and 2 million Canadians suffer this disease. Osteoporosis leads to increased bone fragility with the risk of fracture particularly in the hip, spine and wrist. It’s known as the silent thief because bone loss occurs without symptoms.
Osteoporosis, Bone Building and Bone Maintenance.
One in four women over the age of 50 and one in eight men over the age of 50 have the disease. Osteoporosis reduces the quality of life and can result in disfigurement such as a humped back, can cause lowered self-esteem, reduction or loss of mobility and decrease independence. 70 percent of hip fractures are Osteoporosis related. Hip fractures result in death up to 20% of cases and disability for 50 percent of those who survive.
Nu Bones™ offers both mineral and organic supplements
of the bone building equation.
Most of today’s bone building supplements only offer various Calcium compositions. Nu Bones™ main ingredients, Collagen Type 1 and Microcystalline Hydroxyapatite offers supplementation for both sides of the bone building equation. Only Nu Bones™ proprietary, patent pending formulation offers the organic Collagen Type I along with minerals Calcium and Phosphorus, plus 40+ Bone Minerals and Amino Acids in the direct proportions as found in your own bones, for superior bone building.
Bones are a fascinating bodily occurrence. Bone is where organic meets mineral and the two combine to form bone. If bone were purely mineral it would be hard as rock yet an impact from a fall would cause the bone to shatter just like concrete. Because bone is a fusion of organic matter and mineral, bone is rock hard yet retains some elasticity to permit a great degree of flexibility without breakage.
Understanding bone building. Bones are constantly being broken down and dissolved by cells called Osteoclasts and built up by cells called Osteoblasts. Osteoblasts secret an organic substance called Osteoid which is 90% Collagen Type I. Osteoid combines with the minerals Calcium and Phosphorus to produce bone. Problems occur when this balance is upset and bone-resorption exceeds bone building.
Nu Bones™ contains Collagen Type I which is the most abundant Collagen protein found in the body. It makes up 90% of bone mass. It is found in bones, tendons, connective tissue, muscle, hair, skin, teeth and nails. Collagen Type 1 is the organic connective protein, the glue that strengthens our bodies. The word Collagen is derived from the Greek word kolla which means glue. In one report Collagen Type 1 was found to enhance the effect of calcitonin in the treatment of osteoporosis. Calcitonin is a polypeptide hormone that participates in the regulation of calcium levels in vertebrates by inhibiting loss of calcium from bone to the blood. Collagen Type 1 also burns fat, builds lean muscle and thickens hair and nails.
As a side benefit, Women are reporting that their flimsy paper thin nails are emerging strong and thick while using Nu Bones!
Nu Bones™ also contains Microcystalline Hydroxyapatite known as MCHA. MCHA is mostly calcium and phosphorus. This unique composition is actually an extract from real bone. Our MCHA is extracted from BSE free, grass fed, free range cattle bones found in Australia and New Zealand. MCHA also contains about 40 different bones minerals and amino acids in their exact proportions as found in our bones. A Wise Choice for Those at Risk of Osteoporosis.
The MCHA compound has numerous advantages over other forms of calcium making it a favorite to those who wish to supplement calcium as part of an overall approach to the prevention of osteoporosis. It is exceptionally well-absorbed and tolerated, unlike other calcium supplements.
It is what you can absorb that makes the difference. MCHA provides various amounts of bone matrix components making it a comprehensive bone support supplement. Dozens of clinical studies have been conducted to show MCHA’s superior bone building abilities. In one double blind placebo clinical study held in London England patients with moderate to sever back pain due to Osteoporosis were given MCHA or a placebo for 12 months. 92% of patients who actual took MCHA began to have a dramatic and significant reduction in pain and reported no pain at all at the end of the study.
Users of Nu Bones™ claim to feel stronger and are excited about their improved ability. We believe
inner strength may be a matter of bone density as opposed to muscle mass.
In another comparitive study, Draenert et al. (1985) between untreated, calcium carbonate and MCHA, after 56 days the untreated area of bone loss resulted in irregular, weakly mineralized bone roughly filling 50% of the loss. The Calcium Carbonate treated formed irregular garland-like bone, which filled less than 50% of the loss.
The MCHA treated showed an almost complete bone healing. There was a close-meshed, well mineralized trabecular system with bone remodeling clearly evident.
In one double blind clinical study of Osteoporosis, patients given MCHA, Calcium gluconate and a placebo, the results showed in bone density tests, that the Microcrystalline Hydroxyapatite group had a gain of 6.1% bone mass, the Calcium gluconate group had only a 1.5% gain in bone mass and the placebo group had a -5.5% loss in bone mass. The results were published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 36: 426-430, 1982.
Nu Bones™ formulation also contains Magnesium Citrate and Vitamin ‘D’ both essential for the digestion and transmittance of calcium to your bones.
