The Benefits of Antioxidants Are Mounting Up!
Just how important is the need for our diets to contain large amounts of Antioxidants? Is oxygen harmful? Not at all. Our bodies require ample amounts of oxygen, especially at the cellular level. Oxygen is the fuel of life, the fuel much needed by body cells to clean house, expel toxins, complete any biological process. But some oxygen molecules become unstable and loose an electron, called a free radical, which tries to stabilize itself by grabbing another electron from any body substance or tissue near by which in turn destabilizes that molecule.
This process of free radical creation is called oxidation, a normal and important part of your body's metabolism. It is estimated that our DNA receives about 10,000 "hits" from free radicals per day. It's when these free radical reactions overwhelm the body's ability to stabilize them, that damage occurs. Factors that escalate free radical damaged are high levels of stress, pollution such as air pollution, smog and cigarette smoke, chemicals like pesticides, preservatives, food additives, various chemical laden body and hair products, toxic household cleaners, chlorine and other chemicals found in drinking water.
So what effects do Out of Control Free Radicals have on us.
Much research now shows that out of control oxidation is a causative factor in many illness. Aging - free radical cell damage can cause deterioration of the skin's support structures, making a person's appearance seem much older then they really are. Free radicals are thought to promote heart disease, contribute to plaque on the artery walls, damage to DNA and a contributing factor for many chronic diseases.
A Different View on Cholesterol.
Cholesterol is a fat-like material found in the brain, nerves, bile and liver. It is essential, the building block for all steroid hormones including sex hormones, needed for brain function and a feeling of well being. Produced and controlled by your liver and kidneys, studies show that only 30% of people can raise their cholesterol levels by diet. By blocking and preventing cholesterol, even the slightest low levels of cholesterol are associated with severe depression, suicide, and lung cancer in older women. A study conducted at the Henry Ford Medical Center in Detroit Michigan showed that men taking cholesterol lowering drugs had a higher risk of suffering from depression, crying spells, anxiety, worry and suicidal thoughts. Some of these bile blocking drugs prevent the absorption of oil type vitamins such as vitamins A, D, E and K. Ironically a shortage of Vitamin E can be a direct cause of heart disease.
Some medical professionals now believe that a high level of cholesterol will not necessarily lead to artery plaque build up but that a destructive form of cholesterol develops from a lack of antioxidants. This oxidized form of cholesterol is now believed to be the bad cholesterol, the one that sticks to artery walls.
Antioxidants Help Prevent: - Heart Disease - Excessive Aging - Cell Damage
- Neuro Decline - Cholesterol Oxidation
What are Antioxidants?
Antioxidants are molecules that can easily and abundantly give up an electron to neutralize a free radical without any damage to itself. Antioxidants are found in fruits, vegetables, herbs including many teas. It is the typical American diet that very much lacks sufficient amount of antioxidants. There is virtually no Antioxidants in a hamburger, fries and soda pop. How much fresh fruit and vegetables are in your daily diet?
High Potency
Powerhouse of Antioxidants™
Powerhouse of Antioxidants™ contains high potency standardized extracts that have been fortified, extracted to high levels of antioxidants, for an extreme abundance of antioxidants. Each capsule of Powerhouse of Antioxidants™ contains:
Green Tea extract, standardized to 95% Polyphenols. Studies show that Green Tea may reduced the risk of heart disease, may lower the bad LDL cholesterol and boost the Immune system. As well Green Tea extract may play a role in weight loss because of increased metabolism, control the body's activation of thermogenesis, fat oxidation, or both. Other benefits of Green Tea as shown by dozens of studies such as one conducted by Dr. Hasan Mukhtar, Ph.D., Evan P. Helfaer Professor and Director of Research at the University of Wisconsin Medical Science Center reported that green tea reduced the risk of cancers of the skin, lung, stomach, esophagus, duodenum, liver, pancreas, breast, colon, and prostate. Green Tea's anticancer properties have been published in the National Cancer Institute and recently acknowledge by the FDA.
Grape Seed extract, standardized to 95% Procyanidolic. To give you an example, two capsules contains 250 mg of grape seed 95% extract is approximately equivalent to 2,500 mg of grape seed. Grape seed extract is one of the most powerful antioxidants found in nature. Grape seed extract contains a special class of water-soluble bioflavonoids called proanthocyanidins. These compounds help neutralize free radicals, that cause cell damage. Studies have shown the antioxidant activity of these specific bioflavonoids is 20 to 50 times greater at scavenging free radicals than Beta-Carotene or Vitamins C and E. Grape seed extract have also been shown to help promote the structural strength of blood vessels, help stabilize skin and other collagen, and maintain elastin.
Pomegranate extract, standardized to 40% Allagic Acid. Pomegranate an extraordinarily potent antioxidant which has been shown to reduce platelet aggregation, thereby supporting a healthy flow of blood through the arteries. Studies have shown that Pomegranate fruit extracts can block enzymes that contribute to osteoarthritis according to a Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine study published in the September 2005 issue of the Journal of Nutrition. The study looked at the ability of an extract of pomegranate fruit against Interleukin-1b (IL-1b), a pro-inflammatory protein molecule that plays a key role in cartilage degradation in osteoarthritis.
Guggul extract, standardized to 10% Guggulsterones. Guggul also known as Myrrh, one of the gifts the wise men brought at the time of Christ's birth has been used by Ayurvedic health practitioners for thousands of years. Guggul contains a compund that helps reduce blood sugar and insulin levels, cholesterol and inflammation, thereby reducing the risk of heart disease. Studies show that Guggul can reduce the synthesis of cholesterol by the liver, effective in lowering triglycerides, and shown to block the oxidation of Cholesterol. Guggul has been shown to reduce stickiness of platelets, thereby reducing the formation of artery plaque which leads to arteriosclerosis.
Each bottle of Powerhouse of Antioxidants™ contains a 30 day supply.
Recommended to take 2 capsules daily.
